Delhi and its Wildlife

Despite its thriving urbanity, Delhi, the capital of India, is home to a variety of urban wildlife. The Department of Forests and Wildlife, works tirelessly to ensure that the balance between urbanization and the thriving wildlife in the city is maintained.

The survival of wild creatures and the health of the ecosystem depend on their rescue. Animals who are hurt, orphaned, or in danger of extinction are rescued by organizations and trained wildlife rehabilitators who provide them with care and a secure environment in which to recuperate.

When to Rescue?

Calling for wildlife rescue is essential when you encounter animals in distress and are unsure if they require assistance. Signs to look for include injured or bleeding animals, babies separated from their parents, or animals in dangerous locations like roads or buildings. If you observe an animal exhibiting unusual behavior, lethargy, or signs of illness, it's a cause for concern. Additionally, if you suspect illegal activities such as wildlife trafficking, contact authorities immediately. Always prioritize your safety and avoid direct contact with the animal. Instead, contact local wildlife rescue organizations or animal control authorities who have the expertise to assess and provide proper care.
